If you are planning on doing any type of burning in Columbia Township, you will need to notify the Fire Department of your plans to burn. Please fill out the burn permit request information below if you are planning to burn. Your information will be sent directly to the fire department.
If requesting a permit for a bon fire, the Fire Chief or his designee, prior to issuing a permit or burning, must do a site inspection.
If you are a Village resident, you are not allowed to burn within the Village limits or within 1500 feet of the Village limits. You are only allowed to have camp fires. Village residents CANNOT burn leaves or brush. Burning of household paper waste is allowed only in a METAL Barrel with a SCREEN over the top.
Burning of building materials is also not allowed within Columbia Township.
